Dina originates from Forest Hills in Queens. New York. But she relocated to Dix Hills on Long Island right before the end of her junior year. Her two brothers are Gregory the elder brother of her, and Evan. When she was nine till 16, she started working in the industry of entertainment by modeling. Ron Stetson was her teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse where she was studying the acting of Sanford Meisner techniques for three years. Sandra Bullock has received the similar training received by Jeff Goldblum and Leslie Nielsen. The first film she appeared in was Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to move in Los Angeles. After landing the lead role for Johnny Mnemonic where she did majority of the stunts herself, she positioned her self as an actor that is physically fit.
